Progress: during 2024 (formalising the group and laying foundations for our work)

We started the year by establishing the group's Constitution and policies for Data Protection, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding (see separate post) at the same time as eliciting ideas from the founding members about the next stage when we'd be seeking to engage with additional volunteers and contacts.

By April we had a core group of people prepared to put some work in and serve as a committee providing oversight for the group, but it quickly became apparent that our different availability put a constraint on opportunities for collaboration. Nevertheless, we started to lay the foundations for the work to follow.

Elections in the early summer proved to be a distraction, but also offered food for thought. This, and the capacity constraints we have to acknowledge (imposed by changes in personal circumstances, competing commitments, and limited number of collaborators) provoked a rethink.
